They contain Phenyl Propanol-Amide PPA. Which causes Strokes & Are banned in USA!

The different tablet which contains PPA or Phenyl propanol amine is not banned in USA it is only rumor which comes closest to the truth. They might lead to stroke in younger women. The United States has issued a warning that consumers are to use the tablet only with doctor’s prescription. Phenylpropanolamine (PPA) which is used in tablets for cough, cold and sinus and other allergy problems.Second:.In the United Kingdom, PPA is available in many of the cough and cold tablets such as in Paracetamol and other pain killers. It has no restriction in USA and no license required to sell in any shop.The risk is very less and only handful of such cases has been recorded.

PPA is a constituent of the common drugs .However these drugs should be taken under medical supervision ONLY. The funny part of the message was that it says the USA(though they used flag of United Kingdom) has benned these drugs but actually drugs containing PPA were banned in India on 27 January 2011.On 13 September 2011 Madras High Court revoked a ban on manufacture and sale of paediatric drugs nimesulide and phenylpropanolamine (PPA).So the chances of these drugs causing you stroke is very minimal and you should be careful about the dosage . But otherwise the direct threat is not realistic.

Many time I have received in my email id and whats up a message from my relatives, friends and my benevolent that Do not drink coke and have mentos, the mixture will cause a chemical reaction and form cyanide causing your stomach to explode. As because each coin has pros and cons hence I start research as I also like coke as well as mentos. First I asked from my familiar Doctors (Homeopathy, Allopathy as well as Aurvedik)

Doctors states that No, because
1. When you put mentos into Coke, it will fizz heavily because of the menthol in Mentos. Otherwise nothing will happen. They explain that a TV show "Mythbusters" on Discovery TV have proved that mixture of Coke and Mentos is not harmful. You can check the video on snopes.com.
2.The origin of this viral message makes it a bit tricky. There are some youtube videos you can find on Google which shows how mentos react when it put into coke, result in some kind of explosion. However some fake videos are also available on youtube which claimed injury after this experiment. The scientists worked on this and it was declared that the combination of mentos and coke was a physical reaction and not a chemical one.
Now question is arising that what is physical reaction and chemical reaction.
A physical reaction is caused by rearrangement of molecules but it does not interfere the internal structure while chemical reactions does the exact opposite.Rusting of iron would be a chemical reaction but sugar dissolving in water is a physical one.
The mentos and coke experiment was a physical reaction which caused the minor explosion but it has nothing to do with the ingredients of them changing structure and forming a poisonous chemical.
Hence we can say that mixture of Coke and mentos is safe but not advisable to have mentos or other mints after or before consuming huge amount of carbonated drinks as it may cause slight uneasiness however YOU WILL NOT DIE. As there is no cyanide in their mixture.

I had fully satisfied with Doctors view but not stop my research here and start floating on internet and found that many of the web site analyze and explain about this issue. I have checked many website and all website states that mixture of Coke and Mentos is not harmful for health.

Therefore, these messages claiming mixture of Coke and mentos will cause a chemical reaction and form cyanide causing your stomach to explode is a kind of Joke. This is a fake message and it is not believable. You are requested to ignore this message.
